Item Description: GORGEOUS!!!! This is a RARE gorgeous antique W.G. and Co. Limoges handled candy tray with beautiful pink and white dogwood blossoms.
This is one of my personal favorite molds! To serve treats to a guest you would simply put a forefinger through the loop and your thumb on the flower finial, it is so elegant and victorian!!
It has a beautiful hand painted gilded finial with a flower on it and raised floral detail at either end of the victorian dish's mold. The edge is gilded also. The gilding shows only extremely light wear. It is marked with the William Guerin Mark 4 which dates it 1891 to 1932. Mary Gaston's "Collector's Encyclopedia of Limoges" valued these trays at $275.00 to $325.00 (pg 142&143), in the year 2000.
Size:11" x 6"
Condition: Excellent. There is a miniscule nip on the inner seating base (see picture of mark). This effects neither value or stability, I note it only for complete disclosure.
