Item Description: This is an exquisite and rare antique T&V Limoges porcelain footed trivet with a spray of purple and white violets!
The detail and wonderful array of colors are fabulously painted by the artist "M.L.Hicole" as signed on the bottom.
This trivets were made to protect the table top from the heat of a chocolate or tea pot. Therefore, the porcelain is very thick and weighs heavy.
The edge of the is heavily gilded. The gild is intact. The Tressemann and Vogt Limoges France Mark 10 on the trivet dates 1892 to 1907 (however the matching tray, item 1420, is dated 1912).
