Item Description: This is a most exquistie and ethereal tray...
This is an antique hand painted Limoges porcelain tray with an ANGEL BEING PULLED BY 2 BUTTERFLIES THROUGH THE HEAVENS, she is surrounded by a cascade of ROSES.
There is a very fine raised enameling added to her clothing, her wings and on the roses.
The artistic detail is superb!
It is signed on the front by the artist,"M.E. Abbott" and there is an inscription on the back, "To Mrs. Masters with Love- Sept. 1900"!!!!!
The original Haviland France Limoges blank features scalloped edges and ribbon handles. These areas are gilded and the gild does show some wear (more on one handle than the other). However, this only speaks of this trays true antiquity and beauty. Click on the pictures to enlarge them.

It is marked with the Haviland Limoges Mark (consistant with the artist's date).
