Item Description: I love this pitcher! This is an beautiful LARGE W.G.& Co. Limoges cider pitcher (sometimes referred to as a lemonade pitcher) with hand painted burgundy, pink, yellow and white roses. There are wispy shadowy roses also- look at the spout side with the wispy rose at the top and blue wispy flowers at the bottom!
Note the handle-with the foliage trailing up the handle! The detail is fabulously painted by the artist all around the pitcher with an ethereal array of background colors...and it is even prettier than I could capture in my pictures.
The top edge is heavily gilded toward the inside with a rococo gilded design below that.
The William Guerin Limoges mark dates this piece 1891 to 1932. Holds almost 2 quarts!

Condition: Excellent Original. No chips or cracks. There is an original firing flaw inside that has been gilded over by the original artist. It is not a crack, is not open and does not go through.
