Item Description: This is a RARE and MAGNIFICENT Limoges porcelain figural plaque with a beautiful scene on the steps of a castle with a Victorian Princess being serenaded by a suitor. A young boy holds her crown on the pillow and a concerned chaparone (her father?) stands behind her holding a trinket box(with jewelry perhaps) .
There are beautiful roses climbing the stairs to the side of them.

There is delicate raised enameling added to the roses, the "jewels" of her crown and various other places.
This added dimension really brings the roses to life and makes the other areas stand out also.

It is signed by one of the most famous Limoges factory approved artist's "Dubois".
The original mold has scalloped edges and lovely detail work near the edge.
It features a heavily gilded edge. The gild is bright and shows only very minor wear. It has 4 factory drilled holes in the back for hanging.
On the back is hand written.

"L'amour es L'argent
I'apres Levy"
The closest translation I could find is:
"love is the money according to Levy".
"Levy" might also be "Livy", either way, I think it must be a person's name.

It is also marked with the Lazarus Straus and Sons Limoges France Mark 1. This mark dates this piece 1890's to 1920.
